You don't have to figure out the justice system alone.

But you do need someone who'll tell you the truth about it.

About Sara

I spent five years as a Crown Prosecutor.

I stood up in courtrooms and argued cases on behalf of the Crown. I worked with victims, witnesses, investigators, and defence lawyers. I watched people try to navigate one of the most confusing, emotionally exhausting systems that exists — with almost no one to actually explain it to them.

That bothered me more than I let on at the time.

Here's what I kept seeing:

People would show up to give statements without understanding what investigators were actually looking for. They'd sit through trials without anyone explaining what was happening in front of them. They'd get a verdict — guilty or not — and still leave with more questions than answers.

The system isn't designed to hold your hand. I get why.
But someone should.

So I left, and I built Justice Pathway.

I'm a lawyer, not a therapist. I want to be clear about that. I'm not here to process your feelings about what happened. I'm here to make sure you understand your options, know your rights, and can make informed decisions about what comes next — without being blindsided.

What I actually bring to this work:

  • Five years prosecuting criminal cases in Alberta courts
  • A law degree from the University of Calgary
  • Training in trauma-informed practice, forensic science, and addictions
  • The ability to explain complicated things to smart people without being condescending about it

I work with people across Canada, remotely. I'm based in Calgary.

I'll tell you the truth about what you're dealing with. Not because I'm harsh — but because false hope is worse than no hope. You deserve accurate information so you can actually decide what to do. Not a version of events that's been softened to the point of uselessness.

I'll also tell you when something isn't as bad as you think. That happens too.

Most of my clients are smart, capable women who have been carrying something alone for too long. They don't need to be rescued. They need clarity and someone who gets it.

I get it.

A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING

Everything is confidential. I don't share your information with anyone — not police, not Crown, not your family — without your explicit direction.

I don't represent accused people. Ever.

I work across Canada remotely, and in-person in Calgary when appropriate.

I'm not a crisis line. If you're in immediate danger, please contact police or a crisis service. But if you're ready to understand your options and make a plan — that's exactly what I'm here for.

I can't promise the process will be easy. I can promise you won't have to figure it out alone.
