Parent & Youth Support

Legal Support for Families, Parents & Young People in Alberta

When a young person becomes involved in the criminal justice system—as a witness, victim, or someone being interviewed by police—it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and even frightening for the whole family. At Justice Pathway, we help parents and youth understand what’s happening, what to expect, and how to move forward with confidence and support.

What We Help Parents/Guardians With:

  • Understanding your child’s rights when talking to police or lawyers

  • Knowing what to say—and what not to say—when supporting your child
  • Preparing your child for police interviews, court, or meetings with Crown prosecutors

  • Communicating effectively with police, schools, and legal professionals
  • Navigating & understanding subpoenas or court orders
  • Knowing your limits and legal responsibilities as a parent

What We Offer Youth Clients:

  • A safe space to ask questions and understand your rights

  • Support before, during, or after a police interview or court appearance

  • Help with writing your statement or preparing for testimony

  • A trusted adult who will advocate for you—without judgment

  • Tools to manage nerves and feel more confident in legal situations

  • Clear explanations of legal processes, so you’re never left in the dark

Why Families Choose Justice Pathway:

As a former Crown prosecutor, I’ve worked with many youth and families across Alberta. I know how the system works—and I know how to make it easier to navigate. We act as your personal guide and advocate, helping your child feel empowered and supported at every step.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone.

Our goal is simple: to give your family peace of mind and the tools to navigate this with clarity and strength.
